Kingston Police have arrested three boys in connection with the theft of computer equipment from Kingston Collegiate during the weekend.
Police say most of the electronics was recovered, crediting the mother of one of the accused, who became suspicious when her son came home with two computer monitors.
When conducting their initial investigation, police discovered a distinct shoe print on a chair directly below a ceiling-mounted projector that had been stolen. When interviewing the accused, detectives matched the impression to a pair of shoes one of them was wearing, which was consequently seized as evidence.
All three youths have been charged with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and theft over $5,000. One of the accused also faces charges of breaching release conditions.
A remaining few laptop computers have not been recovered. Anyone with information about them is asked to contact Det. Jason Cahill at , ext. 6233, or via
e-mail at jcahill@kpf.ca.
