Teso council claims theft of computer from its offices was an inside job
SIX thieves at the weekend broke into the offices of Teso County Council and stole a computer with other accessories. Treasurer Nelson King’oro said the thieves did not carry any other documents but seemed to have been interested in information stored in the computer. The council’s watchman, James Ochana, said the gang broke window grills using axes during the 2am raid. Ochana said his screams foiled their plans to break into the cash office, which contains important documents. Councillor Moses Echopata said it is likely that the theft was an inside job. Amagoro MP Sospeter Ojaamong claimed the theft of the electronics was meant to destroy documents ahead of a court injunction by a council employee.
The MP said the council had failed to account for funds in the last four years and has several stalled projects. Ojaamong urged the government to provide security to all government buildings including council offices. Several incidences of theft have been reported in Amagoro in the past two weeks. The latest was a raid of a bookshop of Malaba Town Council vice chairman Ishmael Orodi. Teso Residence Association secretary Ishmael Masake has blamed the police for failing to fight increasing crime in Amagoro.

Probably, and maybe the theft is one of the employees in the office.
