Four people charged in theft of school computers
A 15-year-old boy was among four people arrested Thursday in the theft of four computers from Duncan MacMillan High School in Sheet Harbour.
The RCMP said the group was arrested during a traffic stop at 6:30 p.m. on Highway 7 near Musquodoboit Harbour.
Officers also recovered some of the stolen computers, the Mounties said Friday in a news release.
The school’s alarm went off just before 3 a.m. Thursday. Police found that computer towers, flatscreen monitors and keyboards had been taken.
Also taken into custody were a 19-year-old man and woman and a 20-year-old woman, all from Sheet Harbour area, the release said.
The boy was to be arraigned in Halifax youth court, while the others were to be in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date. They all face charges of possession of stolen property and were released until their court dates.
