Computers stolen during break-in at Greater Manchester school
by Mark Langshaw. Published Tue 12 Feb 2013 10:03Overnight on Wednesday 6th February, burglars broke into St Margaret's C of E Primary School, Withington Road, Whalley Range, and stole 18 laptops from a safe.
They then concealed them in pupil's PE bags before leaving.
The laptops are Compaq Presario Cq56s, similar to the one pictured in the issued image.
PC Andrea Richards, based at Whalley Range, said: "These laptops were to be used by school children and their theft has deprived them of valuable learning tools.
"In the current climate primary schools can ill-afford to have valuable property stolen in this way and I am making a direct appeal to anyone who is offered one of these computers in suspicious circumstances – you need to call the police straight away.
"You might think you are getting a bargain, when in actual fact you would be turning a blind eye to a really cynical theft."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4973 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
