COMPUTERS worth thousands of pounds have been stolen from a school in Bury St Edmunds.

King Edward VI School in Grove Road is the latest in a series of schools to be broken into. The raid happened between 2pm on Sunday and 8am on Monday.
It is believed the thieves gained entry to the school grounds by cropping a chain on a gate in Beetons Way before a car was driven across the playing fields.
A window was forced open and eight Apple iMac desktop computers with 20in screens, worth around £5,000 in total, were stolen.
The school is the ninth victim in a string of identical burglaries across Suffolk, with six of the incidents in the west of the county.
Monks Eleigh Primary’s Churchfield premises was targeted on Saturday with 14 RM Notebook 300 laptops stolen from a secured cabinet.
Witnesses or anyone with information should call Pc Barry Simpson at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
