By Innocent Anguyo

The Police in Kampala are hunting for unknown thieves who stole 29 computers from the college of humanities and social sciences at Makerere University.

The computers were stolen from the departments of journalism and communication, social sciences, philosophy and literature.

Six of them were from the computer lab of the journalism department, 20 were from the social sciences computer lab, two from philosophy and one from literature.

Makerere University police boss Jackson Mucunguzi said they were conducting investigations into the matter.

He disclosed that the computers from the journalism department were stolen on Friday night, while those in the departments of philosophy and literature were stolen during Easter. The social sciences computer lab was robbed in February.

The computers stolen from the journalism department were among those donated by Vision Group in February.

Mucunguzi accused students and members of staff of conniving with thugs to steal the computers
