Two more Maroondah schools broken into, eight in total targeted since start of school holidays

UPDATE: TWO more Maroondah schools have been broken into, bringing to eight the total number targeted since the start of the school holidays.
Ainslie Parklands and Dorset primary schools are the latest hit, with burglars forcing entry through windows. A 127cm television was stolen from Ainslie Parklands Primary.
Six other schools were broken into during the school holidays with thieves taking laptops and notebook computers.
Maroondah CIU Senior Constable Liz Ransome said Ringwood Heights Primary School was hit twice.
Bayswater North, Yarra Road, Heathmont East, Ringwood North and Great Ryrie primary schools have also been raided.
At those six schools, burglars entered by forcing open windows and doors and then stole laptops and notebook computers.
"They are targeting purely for laptops and notebooks," Sen-Constable Ransome said.
Sen-Constable Ransome said police believed adults were behind the break-ins because of the targeted nature of the thefts and minimal damage done to the school buildings.
She urged residents living near the targeted schools to report any suspicious behaviour by calling 000 at the time it was occurring so police could arrive quickly on the scene.
Strange behaviour includes people walking through school grounds during the day to prepare for a potential night-time raid
People are also urged to write down numberplates and descriptions of strange vehicles in the area.
Anyone with information can also phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
