£10k of laptops stolen from school SECOND time in three months

Abbey Hey Primary School in Gorton had 30 laptops lifted by thieves during an overnight break-in between 8pm last Monday and 7am the following morning.

A primary school has had £10,000 of laptops stolen by raiders for the SECOND time in just three months.
Abbey Hey Primary School in Gorton had 30 laptops lifted by thieves during an overnight break-in between 8pm last Monday and 7am the following morning.
In September, the school had 27 Toshiba computers stolen from a store room after crooks forced open a window in broad daylight on a Saturday morning.
It is understood the laptops were the replacements for the devices which had previously been stolen.
The blow came in the final week of the school's Christmas term. Headteacher Trevor Matthews said pupils had been left 'very upset' by the previous burglary.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed it is investigating the raid which is the latest in a series of incidents where schools have been targeted for expensive electronic equipment.
Nearby All Saints Primary School suffered extensive damage in three failed burglary attempts in April as thieves left empty-handed after triggering alarms.
Last month, thieves were disturbed by a member of staff at Irk Valley Community School in Collyhurst as they ran across the playground with six laptops they'd taken from a computer room after sneaking into the school.
Saviour CE primary, also in Collyhurst, had 23 laptops taken after being targeted twice in a fortnight in February and March.
Just weeks earlier, 18 Compaq Presario laptops were stolen following a break-in at St Margaret’s CE in Whalley Range.
No-one from Abbey Hey Primary School was available for comment.
