U police are asking for students' help.
Police believe they discovered a connection between a rash of holiday thefts on campus.
According to Det. Mike McPharlin, thieves targeted residential living areas and two buildings on campus during weekends and holidays. Many of the thefts were reported.
However, McPharlin believes there may be more victims. He is asking students to notify police by e-mail at crimes@uupd.utah.edu if they were burglarized between Thanksgiving and mid December, specifically if the crime occurred in the Sage Point or Chapel Glen housing complexes.
Burglarized campus buildings include the Languages and Communication building and HPER North. Items were taken from offices and storage rooms inside the buildings. Police believe thieves often used recycle bins to remove computers and equipment from the rooms.
