NEW JERSEY 3 COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM BRISTOL-MYERS BY EMPLOYEEThe Trentonian - News - 05/03/2005 - Consultant charged with computer theftPLAINSBORO -- A Lawrenceville man, who was a contracted employee for Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Plainsboro office, was charged with theft by unlawful taking after he stole three laptop computers and sold them on eBay, police said yesterday.
Jose Arevalo, 25, was being held yesterday at the Middlesex County Detention Center on $100,000 bail. Arevalo, a computer consultant, was arrested by officers from the Plainsboro Police Department at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Capt. Elizabeth Bondurant said Bristol-Myers Squibb security personnel conducted a primary investigation when three of their IBM Thinkpad laptop computers went missing. Authorities said the laptops, valued at $5,000 total, were stolen sometime between Nov. 24, 2004 and Feb. 22, 2005.

Bondurant said Arevalo worked at the Plainsboro office of the pharmaceutical company and was found selling the missing computers on eBay, an electronic auction website. After a search, Plainsboro police discovered 19 Dell and IBM laptops inside Arevalo’s Gervin Way home. Authorities said the company had reported an additional four Dell laptop computers missing in the past.

Arevalo was charged with computer related theft, police said.
