Thieves broke into a Tacoma car dealership early Tuesday morning and stole about $500,000 worth of trucks, tools and computers.
The theft at Robert Larson Volkswagen, 7633 South Tacoma Way, forced owners to close its service department Tuesday and today, sales manager Rob Walker said.

At about midnight, the thieves entered the dealership and spent the next four hours helping themselves to five pickup trucks, five tool boxes and five computers, Walker said.

Police investigators found no signs of forced entry at the dealership, and haven’t yet determined how the thieves got into the building, said Mark Fulghum, Tacoma police spokesman.

One of the stolen trucks, which had the dealership’s name on its doors, was found Tuesday south of Tacoma, Walker said. The dealership owners are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the thieves’ arrests.
