Burglars struck two Gettysburg car dealerships Sunday night, stealing a car from one and computer parts from both.
Greg Beegle, the manager of Davidson Motor Co., at 720 Biglerville Road, said the burglars stole a $28,000 lime-green 2005 Ford Mustang GT Coupe and an undisclosed amount of money from the safe.
The burglars also stole a hard drive, a computer monitor and other computer parts, he said.
Beegle said he suspects the burglars entered through a window, because none of the doors were broken.
Cumberland Township police said the burglars also caused damage inside the business overnight.
State police at Gettysburg investigated a similar burglary at Renn Kirby Chevrolet-Buick at 791 York Road in Straban Township between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Burglars broke through a window and stole an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
They also stole memory cards from two computers, said Gary Moser, the dealership manager.
It was the second time in a week that burglars broke into the dealership, according to police reports.
The burglars also targeted Renn Kirby between 9 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 15, police said.
That time the burglars stole a $35,000 midnight-blue 2006 Pontiac GTO, Moser said.
Both times, the burglars managed to squeeze through a 10-inch window in the service department, he said.
Detective Tim Guise, with the Cumberland Township Police, said they believe that the robberies are related.
"We would assume that they are linked, based on the items that were taken and the type of business that were hit," he said.
The Adams County Crime Stoppers are offering up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
Anyone with information on the Renn Kirby burglaries should call state police at 334-8111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-869-8057. To report information on the Davidson Motor Co. burglary should call Cumberland Township police at 334-3996 or Crime Stoppers.
