Boy arrested for alleged theft at schoolBy Elise AckermanMercury NewsSan Jose police have arrested a 17-year-old boy who allegedly tried to steal computer equipment from the Sylvandale Middle School on Christmas Eve.
Sgt. Nick Muyo said a silent burglar alarm went off at the school at 10:03 p.m. The boy at first tried to run from responding officers, but soon gave up trying to escape, Muyo said.
He had taken two hard drives, speakers and a portable stereo, Muyo said.
A student at Foothill High School, the boy's name was not released because he is a juvenile. He was booked into juvenile hall for burglary.
