PENNSYLVANIA SUSPECTED COMPUTER THEFT SHOT BY POLICE Public Opinion - www.publicopiniononline.com - Chambersburg, PA Police shoot man in Cumberland County school burglary

By KEITH PARADISEStaff writerA burglary and shooting at a Cumberland County elementary school early Thursday morning might be connected to a rash of computer thefts occurring locally since August.

Troy Wenger Jr., 24, and Anthony Wilson, no age available, were arrested in connection to the burglary. A third suspect, Juan Carlos Samayoa, 25, is listed in stable condition at Hershey Medical Center after he was shot twice by police after he tried to flee by stealing a state police cruiser, according to Troop H spokeswomen Jackie Capriotti.

State Police, Carlisle, responded to a burglar alarm at the Monroe Elementary School in Monroe Township at 2:54 a.m. They found three men in a vehicle with its lights off. Police chased the vehicle to the end of a lane, where the three men attempted to flee. Wenger got away but was later apprehended. Wilson turned himself into police later in the day.

Police have impounded two vehicles they believe were involved with the burglary, one of which contains computer equipment. Capriotti and Trooper Ed Asbury of the Chambersburg barracks both acknowledged that the theft might be connected to a rash of school break-ins where computer equipment was stolen.

Since August 2005, 12 schools in three adjoining counties have been burglarized for computer equipment, including five in Franklin County.
