TENNESSE COMPUTER STOLEN FROM SCHOOL RECOVERED Computer recovered from Cheatham Park Elementary break-in - Wednesday, 01/25/06
Springfield Police recovered equipment early last week belonging to Cheatham Park Elementary from a rental house located at 300 N. Oak St.
The equipment was stolen during a recent burglary at the school.
According to the report, officers responded to a call at 205 5th Ave. West on Jan. 16 at about 8:30 a.m.
Robert “Bob” Sneed, 53, reported that one of his employees, Mark Bundy, 50, of Cheatham Street in Springfield, had found a black case containing a Dell computer belonging to the elementary school.
Sneed said the computer was found under the rental house on Oak Street. He added that other officers had been at the home on Saturday, Jan. 14 to retrieve other property.
No information is available at this time about the other property reportedly recovered.
Bundy told officers that he found the item close to the door underneath the residence. The item has been placed into evidence.
The burglary occurred at Cheatham Park Elementary Jan. 8.About $4,450 in school equipment was taken, Springfield Police said.
Among the items stolen were two televisions, which had Cheatham Park written on both sides of the tube in black ink, several CD players, a camcorder and two laptop computers.
Serial numbers for all the missing equipment are on file with Springfield Police.
