TEXAS COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM CONSTRUCTION BUSINESSES Burleson-Crowley Connection - Local News: "In Crowley, police worked three cases of burglary related to the construction industry in a two-day period of time, Dec. 8-9. In those cases, two model homes, which serve as offices, were hit by burglars, along with one home under construction, as reported:
? Dec. 8 ? An audible alarm alerted police at 10:20 p.m. that a burglary might be in progress at the model home for Nu Home in the 1100 block of Maplewood Lane.

When Officer James Cates arrived at the scene, he said the front door was open and entry appeared to be forced. He took cover and requested backup, which came in the form of Officer James Minton.

The officers then searched the premises, noting that a person wearing a size 12 shoe had kicked near the doorknob several times, which bypassed the deadbolt and shattered parts of the door near the locking mechanism, Cates said.

Inside, an office door had met a similar fate. Several computer items were missing from the office, including one computer and monitor set valued at $1,500.

? Dec. 8 ? Twenty minutes later, police responded to another burglar alarm in the 900 block of Mesa Vista. The same modus operandi was used: Busted in front door, about $400 worth of computer equipment stolen."
