Laptop stolen from Cape BMX office

A $1,400 laptop stolen from Cape Coral BMX over the holiday weekend is likely to slow down preparations for upcoming competition events.

Suzanne Wallace, secretary of the nonprofit organization, said someone broke into the office on S.W. 6th Place sometime between Thursday night and Tuesday morning and stole a laptop containing bond program and rider information.

"We're really on a tight budget because of the upcoming events, so we can't afford to buy a new one right now," Wallace said. "But this is our busy season, so we really do need two computers. Not having that laptop is going to slow us down considerably."

The next competition for riders is scheduled for April.

Wallace said anyone with information can call the Cape Coral police department at 574-3223 or may also return the laptop anonymously to the Parks and Recreation Office at 1410 S.W. 6th Place, between the baseball fields near the BMX office.
