KENTUCKY COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT The Ledger Independent - Maysville, Kentucky: Computer systems stolen from MPD

Wednesday, December 20, 2006 10:58 PM EST

MAYSVILLE (LI) -- Two new computer systems were apparently stolen from the new Maysville Police Department sometime between 2 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to information provided by Detective Ken Fuller.

According to the report filed on the incident, Paul Wallingford of the Maysville Police Dispatch Center reported the two systems missing from the department, which is under construction. The systems were last seen about 2 p.m. Monday and noticed missing the next morning. It was also noted that the front door of the building had been left open Monday night. Fuller said with the contractors on site, apparently someone had neglected to lock the door.

Stolen items included two HP workstations, two flat screen monitors, and a weather monitor radio, according to the report. Fuller said it would cost the department $8,000 to replace the systems.

Fuller said the new building did not have cameras at the time of the incident, but anticipated some will be installed at some point before the building is ready for the department's use.
