Teens Charged With Theft Of 25 Laptops
(AP) READING, Pa. Police charged two 16-year-old boys with stealing 25 laptop computers worth some $30,000 in burglaries at three schools in Berks County.
Shillington Police Chief Andrew Hivner said the boys both live in Kenhorst and both are students at Governor Mifflin High School. They were sent to the Berks County Youth Center to await a hearing before juvenile authorities.
The teenagers were arrested when one tried to sell one of the stolen laptops to an undercover detective. Hivner said police have recovered six of the laptops, which were sold to various buyers that the teenagers found through word of mouth.
Investigators said the two forced open windows and stole the laptops at a middle school in Shillington, an intermediate school in Cumru Township and the high school in Shillington on several occasions from October to December.
