By Telegraph newsdesk
RESIDENTS have been warning to be vigilant following a mini crime wave.
Police say there has been an increase in offences in the Rosegrove and Lowerhouse areas of Burnley.
In the most recent incidents Rosegrove Nursery School was broken into twice and there was a raid at St Augustine's Primary School.
And an 11-year-old girl has been issued with a £40 fine and has signed an acceptable behaviour contract for abusing staff at Rosegrove Llibrary.
Thieves broke into Rosegrove Nursery School, Havelock Street, and stole five Acer computers and monitors, worth £2,500, and in a second raid a Smart Maji interactive learning board worth £1,000 was taken.
Raiders also broke into St Augustine's but fled when the alarm went off.
The thieves were both white men in their 20s. One was wearing a dark blue tracksuit with white stripes down the side, and a hoody. The other had a goatee beard and a gaunt face. He was wearing a dark blue jacket, a hoody and dark trousers."
