Two Durham boys have been arrested on suspicion of stealing from and vandalizing two Durham schools, a church and the Durham Parks and Recreation District office.
The damage and thefts were reported Sunday to the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
Computers, cash and a projector are among items taken in the burglaries. Officials estimated vandalism damage at more than $4,000 among the four sites.
The high school suffered little theft, but appeared to have taken the brunt of the vandalism, said principal Paul Arnold.
An art room was heavily damaged, he said, yet nothing was touched in a computer lab, which was entered. "They didn't even take the laptops," Arnold said.
Mid Valley Baptist Church had a laptop and sound system taken, along with money from its deacon's fund.
The park office suffered the loss of a computer monitor and wireless keyboard, plus two windows thieves broke to get inside the office.
Most of the stolen items were found hidden in a boat within walking distance of the burglaries.
More arrests are expected in the incidents, said sheriff's deputy Joe Deal.
