SPRINGFIELD — Thieves broke into the Riverbend Building last week and stole several items, including computers, from National City Mortgage and The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, according to a police report.
The Riverbend Building is located at 333 N. Limestone St.
The thieves stole from the Chamber three computers, a projector and a docking station stolen. National City Mortgage reported four computers and an unknown amount of money stolen, officials said.
Video surveillance footage showed that on the evening of Nov. 21, two suspects entered the building on two separate occasions carrying out items each time.
Chamber President Mike McDorman said the stolen computers did not contain sensitive information.
"There is no danger of personal or professional information ending up in the wrong hands, but it is frustrating and time consuming to recover from the event," he said.
Chris Kemper, a National City spokesperson, said the thieves have no access to customers' personal information.
"I have checked with National City's security division, and the level of encryption on the computers ensures that no confidential customer information has been compromised," he said.
