CONNECTICUT COMPUTERS STOLEN BY EMPLOYEE New Haven Register - THE BLOTTER: Former worker stole from store, cops say
NORTH HAVEN - A former employee of Circuit City has been accused of taking more than $3,000 in merchandise from the Universal Drive store.
Norberto Torres, 19, of 140 West St., New Haven, surrendered to police this week after learning of a warrant of his arrest of third-degree larceny, Capt. James Merrithew said.
Merrithew said Torres cooperated with police and the stolen merchandise was recovered from his home in early October, when the investigation began by Officer John Wilcox. Eight GPS systems worth $2,400, two computers with a combined worth of $700, a $129 speaker system and four PlayStation games worth a total of $80 were recovered.
Torres is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Meriden Nov. 15.
