Computers stolen: Between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 23, someone climbed through an unlocked kitchen window into a home in the 6700 block of Southwest Eighth Street. The burglar stole a Dell desktop computer and monitor valued at $1,000, a silver laptop computer owned by the U.S. Census Bureau and valued at $1,000, a black IBM laptop valued at $1,000, a Hewlett-Packard laptop recently bought at BrandsMart U.S.A. for $908.30 and a fourth laptop not described in the report but valued at $1,000. The owner told police the garage door was open when he arrived home but said there was no damage or signs of forced entry.
