Police in Sidney said some financial information of members of the local YMCA is in the hands of someone who should not have it.

Investigators said someone broke into the Sidney/Shelby County YMCA in the early-morning hours of Nov. 4 and
stole a server-type hard drive and three computers.

Police said the hard drive contained payroll information and membership information. It contained bank routing numbers for employees and members.

Officials with the YMCA said there are several layers of security on the hard drive, so they said the information may not even be compromised. They said no Social Security numbers were on the hard drive.

YMCA officials they have sent out a letter to members, explaining what happened. They are urging members to keep an eye on their bank accounts to make sure nothing has been compromised.

Sidney police along with the YMCA is offering up to a $6,000 reward for information leading the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
