Surveillance, Alarm Help Police Catch Suspected Indiana Burglar

A burglary-in-progress was caught on tape from multiple angles thanks to a high-tech security system, which helped police catch a suspect.

Police said Jude Yackuboskey, 32, broke into three different businesses on Philadelphia Street in Indiana Friday morning.

Yackuboskey was caught on tape at the Train Station restaurant. Police said he broke in through the back door and began searching the restaurant, using a flashlight.

Within four minutes, police arrived, but Yackuboskey had already left.

"He's only in here for a couple of minutes," said restaurant manager Shawn Cousins. "He only gets a few items off the top of the shelf here, because the alarm was going off and after that, he was just gone. And that's all he does is go straight up the stairs, and they catch him a few yards from here."

Police said they believe Yackuboskey broke into the Ninth Street Deli and Aging Services the same night, where
he stole computers and other materials worth about $3,000.

Police said they caught Yackuboskey with the stolen merchandise, because they were already in the area, alerted by the alarm at the restaurant."I mean, just having one alarm set off caught this guy that has broken into like four businesses in town," said Cousins.

"I mean, it was definitely worth having it, so now that he's caught, that's one less person we have to worry about breaking in here."

Police charged Yackuboskey with burglary and other crimes. He was already awaiting trial on a charge that he broke into a Subway restaurant in June.
