MICHIGAN STOLEN COMPUTERS RECOVERED AT HOME OF SUSPECT WILX - News WILX News 10 Lansing/Jackson-, Breaking News that's local from where you live

It's one of the largest stolen property busts for Lansing police in years.

"Thousands of dollars in stolen property," said Detective Vicki Vaughan Nevins of the Lansing Police Department.

Police raided a Lansing home Thursday while executing a search warrant. What they found was more than they were expecting.

"Tools, automotive tools and outdoor equipment-type tools."

And that's just in the garage. Most of the other property was electronics.

Police seized dozens of items from the home including computers, video games, and CD players. Not to mention household items like door locks and of course, the kitchen sink.

All of the property we have is stolen. Now, it takes some time to find out from where it was stolen.

Police suspect the items found are from crimes in at least four counties. They're focusing on unsolved home and business burglaries in the area. Some of the items, police have been able to place. Others could take weeks.

Police are questioning at least five suspects in the case, one is the homeowner from the house at 912 Reo Road. It's no surprise to neighbors.

"Pretty much see it coming sooner or later," said Robert Brown.

Brown lives across the street and tells us there was constant traffic at the house.

"People knocking on windows, the doors. Going around behind the house and knocking and going in at 3:00 in the morning. I'm usually up and there's people coming and going at that hour."

Detective Vaughan Nevins tells us other suspects will be questioned and that charges could be filed sometime next week.
