GEORGIA COMPUTERS STOLEN 13WMAZ.com - Head Start Vandalized
Police are investigating a vandalism and theft at the Head Start Program in Marshallville, Macon County.
Police Chief Stephen Stewart says someone broke into the building late Wednesday or early Thursday, spray-painted walls and stole computers and possibly other equipment.
He said one grafitti item read: "Tell them popo we run this." He said "popo" was an apparent reference to police.
He said the vandals may have been juveniles.
He says the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is involved in the case. They are investigating whether the incide is related to Monday's fire at police officer David Nichols' house -- the second suspicious fire in less than two years to targeting a police officer's home.
Stewart's own home was burned in January 2006.
This morning, investigators were taking pictures of the Head Start office, which was blocked off by crime-scene tape.
