Stolen computer recovered in Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — Police said Friday they recovered one of the computers stolen by the “smash-and-grab” bandit in the suspect’s car.

Willie Frank Tory Jr., 55, was apprehended Dec. 1 and charged Tuesday with one of several burglaries that have happened at various Vero Beach businesses in the last few months. Friday, police concluded an Apple computer notebook found in Tory’s was one of the three stolen from Autobahn Commutations on State Road A1A on Nov. 18. Detectives are still considering charges against Tory in the other burglaries.

Tory was being held on $32,500 bond at the Indian River County Jail.
