CONNECTICUT COMPUTERS STOLEN The Connecticut Post Online - Stolen car fished from Pequonnock But it was dripping wet because the Grinch-y burglars dumped the car into the Pequonnock River off Pulaski Street, about six miles away from the owner's home. "The railroad bridge tender called it in" after seeing the roof of a car submerged in the water, Lt. James Viadero, the Bridgeport police spokesman, said Monday. Bridgeport's scuba team fished the gray four-door sedan out of the water and the department's burglary unit is holding onto it until Trumbull police can search it for evidence, Viadero said. He added that it would be difficult to get evidence from the vehicle because water tends to destroy evidence. He didn't immediately know how long the car had been submerged. Trumbull police were notified after the discovery and will check the car over, said Deputy Police Chief Michael Harry. Harry said a married couple live in the home by themselves. The wife noticed that her husband's car was missing after she awoke. "While the people were sleeping they broke into the house and took some valuables and the car," Harry said. Two laptop computers were reported missing from the house, Harry said. The home is located near the border of Bridgeport, off Reservoir Avenue and near an entrance to the Route 8/25 Connector. Pulaski Street is in Bridgeport's East Side, not far from the highway.
BRIDGEPORT — Residents of a Suzanne Circle home in Trumbull got a belated Christmas gift when their 2005 Honda Accord, stolen by burglars who hit their home while they slept last Wednesday, was recovered.
