Police arrest Dartmouth man who reported theft
Police in Dartmouth, N.S., have arrested a 36-year-old man who called them to report that an intruder had stolen money and a laptop computer from the business where he was working Sunday morning.
Staff Sgt. Sean Auld said that when police investigators arrived, they sensed something didn't add up.
"I guess through their training and experience the story that he related didn't make sense. It didn't add up," Auld said.
"He's now facing charges of theft over $5,000 and public mischief, this in relation to him leading police into a false investigation."
