Man charged with trying to sell stolen computer

MONTICELLO – Monticello Police have arrested Alberto Rodriguez, 40, of Monticello for possession possessing a computer system stolen from the office of the EconoLodge Motel on Broadway.

Police said Rodriguez tried to sell a computer, flat screen monitor and Panasonic phone on Broadway. An investigation revealed it was stolen from the motel office.

When he was arrested, Rodriguez had concealed in his pants a ninja-style sword, police said. And while being processed at the police station, Rodriguez kicked the computer off a table and damaged it.

He was charged with felonies of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
