Burglars apparently took advantage of a door that doesn't shut completely to get into Campus View Church of Christ, 1360 S. Lumpkin St., between 5 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday and steal a laptop computer and power cords with a total value of $1,860, Athens-Clarke police said.
The front door was locked, but doesn't always close tight, according to police.
Once inside, thieves kicked out a door panel to get into a church office, police said.
