Lincoln police are searching for the person they say stole $7,000 worth of items from Lincoln Southwest High School.

According to Lincoln police officer Tim Abele, the incident happened between Sunday night and Monday morning. "This is an interesting burglary because there are no signs of forced entry," Abele says.

Police say the suspect or suspects gained entry to an area teachers use for storage called the Teacher Planning Center and stole 5 computers, two projectors and a DVD player.

"We are assuming someone had a key to get into that particular locked area," Abele says. "So, we are hoping someone has some information in reference to this. Many of the items are Apple or Mac products."

Officer Abele says this case is a good reminder for people to keep an eye on Lincoln school buildings, especially because spring break for LPS is coming up. "If you see something suspicious late at night, don't hesitate to call and let us come and check it out, so we can prevent a burglary or a vandalism from happening," Abele says.
