Police in Forest Lake said charges may be filed later this week against a Minneapolis man in connection with theft of a computer here on Tuesday, March 24.
Investigators said the case also involves police in St. Louis Park who are investigating the same man for like crimes in that area.
The theft in Forest Lake was reported at Rolltex Computers, 255 Highway 97 after a man came into the computer store and walked out with a laptop computer valued at $650.
Police here received numerous tips as to the man’s identity after store owner Troy Stanton provided metro television stations with video of the crime in progress. That led police here to the crime reports in St. Louis Park.
As of Tuesday of this week, no charges have been filed in Washington County. Charges are also pending against the man in Hennepin County, police here said.
Police did not recover the computer upon executing a search warrant at the suspect’s home at 4040 S. 15th Ave., Minneapolis, last week.
