STERLING, Colo. — A vehicle stolen from Korf Continental Friday night has been recovered in Las Vegas, Nev.
The vehicle, a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe, was located in Las Vegas by the vehicle’s OnStar system.
A 2009 Tahoe can retail for at least $36,000, according to leftlanenews.com.
Police are investigating the burglary of Korf Continental that occurred between 8:45 p.m. Friday, May 8 and 7:30 a.m. Saturday, May 9.
“It is just unfortunate,” said manager Jim Bowey. He said the incident is a wake-up call that Sterling is not immune to such crimes.
The police were contacted by employees Clint Davis and Charlie Jordan when Jordan opened the business 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
According to the police report, Jordan said someone entered business during the night, stealing a computer system from an office. Jordan reported his computer had been disassembled to be taken.
The police reported indicated the only items missing were the computer system and a computer monitor. This morning, the Journal-Advocate learned a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe was also stolen. Sterling Police would not disclose how the vehicle was stolen as it is still under investigation. However, entry was made through the fenced yard on the east side of the building.
Jordan also reported a lock to bullpen was cut, allowing access to back of building. He told police that after the Business After Hours held Friday, the business was closed at about 8:45 p.m. He arrived at 7:30 to open. He reported the attempt to steal his computer system was likely stopped when the perpetrators were scared off.
A window was broken on the east side of business.
SPD Lt. Tyson Kerr said the department has no leads to the incident yet.
