Crooks steal school computer
10 June 2009
HEARTLESS thieves broke into a primary school and stole vital learning equipment.
A black laptop computer and digital camera were stolen from St Joseph's School in Burnham between Friday evening and Monday morning.
Police are now carrying out house to house enquiries in the area and they will be working with the schools in the community to increase security.
Sergeant Ian Kennett said "I would ask for anyone who lives near to local schools to keep their eyes open and report anything suspicious.
"It is a shame for young people to have their school equipment stolen and I would like to seek the support of the community to stop this from happening again."
He added: "If anybody is offered a black Toshiba laptop please let us know straight away so that the serial number can be checked."
Police are urging anyone with information to call Burnham police on 0845 456 7000.
