CUMBERLAND, Ind. (WISH) - Cumberland police are looking for burglars who were bold enough to break into a church twice in just 48 hours. The burglars stole cash,computers and other electronics. The total loss is more than $5,000.

When Cumberland United Methodist Church Pastor Jeff Mair walked into his church Sunday morning, he couldn't believe his eyes. He found much of the building ransacked.

"It destroyed that door frame. It's going to have to be fixed and we need to buy three new computers," said Mair.

Mair immediately started what became a futile clean up and replacement process. Monday night, there was another break in. Police believe it was the same crew, back for more.

"We were just mad that someone would have the spine to do it a second time," said Mair.

The church is now installing a security system to make sure the crime doesn't happen again. Since they have to spend thousands of dollars to do it, the pastor said he won't be able to use the money to help other in need.

"For someone who was needing money, we would have helped them. We try to do as much as we can with the community. If they needed help we would have done whatever we could to help them," said Mair.

But instead the burglars helped themselves.
