Laptop computer stolen from Pilling Street apartment

HAVERHILL — A man left his apartment unlocked so a contractor could do some work on his bathroom on Monday.

Nusa Alasa, who owns the building at 45 Pilling St. and lives on the second floor, told Officer Ronald Hilchey he then noticed his laptop computer was missing about 11 p.m. Monday.

He told Hilchey he had last seen the laptop computer at noon on Monday.

The computer, a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion model with a 17-inch screen was valued at $1,300, police said.

The theft was reported at 10:44 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
