Monroe police arrested a man Wednesday afternoon who was suspected of stealing a computer from Wossman High School and breaking into someone's house.
Joseph Pleasant, 17, of 1006 Standifer Ave., Monroe, was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center on felony theft.
An arrest affidavit states that on Aug. 14, a woman told police her house had been broken into. She told police the items taken were a PlayStation 3 game, an iPod charger and several articles of clothes. Witnesses told police they had seen a man walking away from the house carrying a bag.
On Saturday, the victim and her son told police they saw the suspect wearing the suspected stolen clothes at the high school. On Wednesday, police spoke to the suspect, Pleasant, who admitted to stealing the items.
Police accompanied the suspect to his residence to recover the stolen items. While there, police saw a Dell laptop computer, which Pleasant admitted to stealing from the school. School officials told police a laptop had been stolen in May from the school. The computer was valued at $1,534.30.
Pleasant's bond had not been set.
