NORTH CAROLINA COMPUTER EQUIPMENT STOLEN Roanoke Rapids Woman Charged With Stealing $22,000 Dollars Worth Of Computers: Police in Roanoke Rapids say they have busted a woman who received more than $22,000 dollars worth of stolen computer equipment. The arrest was made on Friday in the 1300 block of Hamilton Street. Police arrested Rose Cohen after they say she had been using phony purchase orders similar to the ones used by the State of North Carolina. They say she bought the items in the name of an employee who works at the NC Office Of Information and Technology At Cohen's home police say they recovered six stolen dell laptops and five HP laptops with a value of over $16,000 thousand dollars. A spokesperson says Cohen had already mailed 5 additional lap tops to the African country of Ghana and sold two smart phones on eBay valued at $500 dollars a piece. Police say Cohen had been receiving the stolen merchandise since July 2009. She is in the Halifax County Jail under a $25,000 dollar secured bond. Roanoke Rapids Police were tipped off about Cohen by the State Capital Police in Raleigh as they were conducting their own investigation.
