Israel: Seeking the Return of Stolen Memories
September 18, 2009
Dina Achdari lost her husband and son in a tragic accident, and now, she also lost her memories after thieves made off with her computer, which contains her photos of her lost loved ones.
The two were killed near Kibbutz Elyakim along Route 70 about a month ago, and the theft of the computer has thrown her back to that horror, she explains, making an appeal to the thieve to return the computer if they have any compassion whatsoever.
Earlier this week she returned home to the mess, which immediately signaled her home was vandalized. “I am brokenhearted” she explains. “Everything I had I gone, everyone I love, and now, the memories are also gone”.
Dina explains the thieves also took the SIM card that remained from her son’s destroyed cellular telephone, which was in a plastic bag as well as a cigarette lighter and a digital camera that still has photos on it.
Afula police are investigating.
