Two East Naples men were arrested Saturday and charged with selling a stolen $1,000 laptop computer for $100.
Robert L. Concego, 30, 3000 Areca Ave., No. 9, and Christopher James Hamler, 25, 3000 Areca Ave., No. 6, were both arrested after a man contacted Collier deputies and said Hamler tried to sell him a laptop.
Mark Davis told deputies he agreed to look at the laptop, which he said he turned on, but it was locked with a password and showed a username of Jenkins. According to the report, Davis said Hamler could not tell him the password, and he declined to purchase the laptop.
According to the report, deputies determined that Hamler broke into 2991 Areca Ave., Unit B, through a window and stole Paris Jenkins’ laptop and a docking kit, valued together at $999, then asked Concego to help him sell it. The report states that Hamler sold the computer and docking station to another unidentified man for $100, which he split with Concego. According to the report, the man who bought the laptop told deputies he did not know it wasstolen, and he returned it.
Both men were charged with dealing in stolen property, and Hamler was also charged with burglary and grand theft.
