Brooksville - A 16-year-old was arrested Oct. 2 and charged with felony grand theft for stealing an $855 laptop computer from Hernando High School.
The teen, whose name is being withheld because of his age, told the school resource officer that between the hours of about 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. Oct. 1, he removed the computer from the media center and placed it in his book bag and left the building.
The stolen laptop was returned by the teen's legal guardian.
The teen was arrested and transported to the Hernando County Jail, where he was released into the custody of his guardian.
