$47,000 in computer equipment stolen from Edison office

EDISON
Officials from a trading company called police Tuesday after discovering some $47,000 worth of computer equipment missing from an out-of-use office, police said.

The theft from the building, located at 499 Thornhall St., occurred between April 30 and Oct. 6. Officials from Breakwater Trading came upon the fifth-floor office to find that someone had taken five Dell computers and a Dell server, police said.

The company told police it was in the process of closing that office and did not occupy it on a regular basis, but that no one was supposed to have access to it.
