Man steals computers, drives into ditch

Sheriff's deputies said a man stole two computers from a computer store and then drove into a ditch in Yorktown on Thursday.
Deputies were dispatched to the Connecting Point Computer Center in the Heritage Square Shopping Center off Route 17 around 3:07 p.m., according to a release from the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said a man fled the store with two computers and got into a vehicle.
A short time later, a deputy spotted a vehicle matching the description and attempted to stop it. The vehicle attempted to elude the deputy, but drove into a ditch on Dare Road.
Both occupants fled the vehicle, and the passenger was taken into custody.
A K9 unit searched for the driver, and at this point, the driver has not been located.
The investigation continues and charges are pending.
