Anne Arundel County police are trying to figure out who broke into a county food bank Thursday night and stole several computers containing valuable information about clients and bank accounts.
"They knew what they were doing, and they were here a while. They took computers, took the printers," said Bruce Michalec, executive director of the Anne Arundel County Food Bank.
He said the culprits took the backup to the computers, too.
"That hurt, because now all my records are gone with them, so we closed our bank accounts," Michalec said.
The organization has boarded up the window where it believes the culprits got in. Michalec said he doesn't believe it was a random break-in.
"Somebody knew what they were doing here," he said.
"I think it took more people to pick up that television set, and since there were seven computers, that's a lot of running back and forth."

Michalec said police took some evidence to analyze.
"They did a very extensive job. They took DNA, as well as fingerprint smudges and that type of thing. Hopefully they'll come up with something," he said.
Michalec said he thinks more than one person was involved.
"I think it took more people to pick up that television set, and since there were seven computers, that's a lot of running back and forth," he said.
The food bank also carries supplies such as medical equipment and appliances, but those items weren't taken, he said.
Michalec said they're hoping the thieves mail the computer hard drives back.
The Food bank is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and a conviction.
