Super Bowl Security Laptop Stolen

Published : Friday, 14 Jan 2011, 8:50 PM CST
ARLINGTON, Texas - A laptop containing NFL and Super Bowl XLV security secrets was stolen earlier this week in Arlington.
Arlington police confirmed the laptop was among the items stolen from a car parked outside Joe's Crabshack. Several thumb drives and security credentials were also taken.
The items belongs to employee working on Super Bowl XLV planning.
Police did arrest three men in connection with the theft. However, they said the laptop was not recovered.
"Security efforts for Super Bowl XLV have not been compromised in any fashion, but due to a pending investigation we cannot elaborate at this time," said APD spokeswoman Tiara Richards.
However, police sources told FOX 4 not all of the files on the computer were secured with a password and that the NFL is "very anxious to get it back."
Sources said the NFL plans to scrub security credentials and will issue new ones with new artwork. But the league is not giving APD information about how that process will work or what the artwork will look like, the sources said.
