Teen confesses to $2,000 theft from Office Depot

DESTIN — An Office Depot employee was charged with felony larceny after he confessed to stealing store merchandise.
According to an arrest report from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the thefts happened between Oct. 1 and Dec. 14 of last year.
Lorenzo Jimenez, 19, told a coworker that he had stolen a desktop computer. The coworker reported the information to the Destin store’s loss prevention officer.
Jimenez admitted he took the desktop computer and said he had also taken a digital camera and a laptop computer. The merchandise was worth a total of $2,020.
He gave the prevention officer a written statement and returned all of the stolen property.
After being read his rights, Jimenez confessed to the arresting deputy in a sworn written statement.
He was charged on Jan. 16 with larceny, a third degree felony.
