Computers stolen in church attack
A church in east Belfast has been damaged and computer equipment has been stolen during an overnight robbery.
Thieves gained entry to the Ulster Temple Elim Church, on the Ravenhill Road, on Friday night.
The incident was reported to police at 8am the following morning.
A sum of money was taken from the church along with a number of computers, a television and a games console, it is understood.
The incident has been condemned by south Belfast DUP MLA Jimmy Spratt.
"Like all right-minded people, I utterly condemn last night's burglary," he said. "All churches, regardless of denomination, are places of worship and they should never be attacked in this way.
"I visited the scene this morning and am heartened that so many people have offered their help and support and that the church will be back open again tomorrow."
Police have appealed for anyone with more information to come forward.
